Our Mission
With a focus on limited-income working families, Kent Attainable Housing provides comprehensive homeownership education, builds or partners to build affordable housing, and advocates for policies that alleviate housing insecurity.
We work to create access to affordable mortgage opportunities, mentor families toward generational financial security, and build stronger, more equitable communities.
Advocacy
Kent Attainable Housing is a lean but mighty organization that believes there is strength in numbers. We align with organizations that support strong communities and secure housing in Maryland, and advocate for policy positions that expand rural housing availability for low-to moderate-income residents.
Locally, we advocate for community-driven solutions for affordable housing in Maryland’s Priority Funding Areas, particularly in neighborhoods that have historically been overlooked for investment. Our goal is to transform disinvested communities into thriving, vibrant neighborhoods where all people can find belonging, opportunity, and community.
Our Advocacy Partners
Community Development Network of Maryland
CDNM creates space for housing counselors, developers, and community-based organizations to come together, share what they’re seeing on the ground, and build relationships that strengthen community-serving work statewide. It works to ensure that policies and investments reflect real community needs.
Rural Maryland Council
RMC brings together citizens, community-based organizations, federal, state, county and municipal government officials as well as representatives of the for-profit and nonprofit sectors to collectively address the needs of Rural Maryland communities.
Housing Assistance Council
HAC is a national nonprofit that supports affordable housing efforts throughout rural America. Since 1971, HAC has provided below-market financing for affordable housing and community development, technical assistance and training, research and information, and policy formulation to enable solutions for rural communities.
